For the ordinary tourist, climbing Mount Olympus is just a strenuous walk, although most folk spread the ascent over two days by using one of the six mountain refuges (imaginatively named Refuge A, Refuge B, etc). Our trip sprang from an internet approach by George Coveos of the Greek ROBA Club – he wanted to do the ‘Wonder Walk’ across the High Atlas – (ARTICLE HERE).
I made this 2007 trip with my pal Dick Johnson from Callander (and here he is!). We crammed it all into one long weekend, flying over to Athens then taking the ROBA Club bus all the way up to a low level refuge, then next day completing the walk to the first summit to commune with the gods.
The weather was fine for our trip and THESE PHOTOS follow the sequence.
